- Why not just give the new 1200's a faster data separator? That'd be a
- lot cheaper than hacking the drives. Heck, it's an off-the-shelf
- product. DD is dead, and long may it stay that way. It's 10+ year
- old technology. There's no more reason to use it than there is to use
- 5 1/4" drives (or 8" for that matter). A faster data separator could
- STILL write DD drives for interchange with older machines. My
- A4000/040 can, and my 386 can, so I know it's possible.
